Allison Dunaway
In late 2017, Allison and her family decided to search for a new Episcopal church. The beautiful service and warm welcome from parishioners and staff were all that Allison, Greg, Madeleine (19) and Sawyer (13) needed to decide to call St. Mary’s home. Over the years, the Dunaway family has gotten to know fellow parishioners through missions to Ecuador, parish dinners and breakfasts, serving with Caritas, and participating in youth group activities. Allison partnered with StoryCorps to bring One Small Step to St. Mary’s and has participated in and co-led Sacred Ground. Allison currently serves as a Lay Eucharistic Minister and in just a couple of weeks, she will lead a short-term mission team of sixteen parishioners to Ecuador (including her husband, Greg, and son, Sawyer!).
A Wahoo forever, Allison spent over twenty years working as a public- and private-sector environmental scientist. She recently pivoted and began a career as systems analyst with the Virginia Retirement System. Allison enjoys traveling, running, hiking and reading. She and her family reside in Powhatan.
