Fellowship at St. Mary’s
“St. Mary’s is like a family. When I’m here I know I’m home”
Visitors and Newcomers. People are drawn to St. Mary’s parish for many reasons: the beautiful country setting, the serenity of the carpenter-gothic buildings, the calm of the churchyard, the squeals and laughter of children, the sense of coming home to a community in Christ where one can worship and serve and play. Regardless of the reason for coming, visitors find it easy to feel like part of the family. Clergy and lay greeters help newcomers feel comfortable on their first visits and follow up with visitors who want to learn more about St. Mary’s. Want to know what welcome means?

Our Seniors Group meets once a month for lunch and a program so interesting that many “sub-seniors” are regular attendees. The Seniors form a warm camaraderie within the larger, bustling community of St. Mary’s. It’s a place to greet an old friend, welcome a new one and to feel supported and engaged. Luncheon meetings are at noon in the Parish Hall on the second Wednesday of October through May. Everyone is welcome!
Coffee Hour. “Make new friends and keep the old.” There’s nothing like church coffee hour to catch up with someone you’ve missed or to greet someone you don’t recognize. Coffee hour follows 11:00 a.m. worship except on second Sundays, when we have breakfast. During the Summer, we have Lemonade & Cookies in the Courtyard after 10:00 a.m. worship. Helping is a great way to meet and greet!
Parish Breakfasts. On the second Sunday of the month, St. Mary’s folk gather for a gourmet breakfast between services (at 10:00 a.m.). Cooks and diners alike enjoy the month’s fare, each better than the last month’s. No sleeping during the sermon! Like to cook or serve? We always can use more help in the kitchen!
Parish Suppers. Monthly Parish Suppers offer individuals and families a night-off from cooking, delicious meals and programs of interest. Children’s activities take place during program, so the evening is great for the whole family. Parish Supper happens on the third Wednesday of each month, September though April. Reserve a spot at the next Parish Supper. To double your fun, pitch in and help.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper & Children’s Mardi Gras What’s more fun than a kitchen full of teenagers flipping pancakes? It’s a hall filled with children with beads, noise makers, sequins and painted faces! Join us on Fat Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. for a festive, traditional emptying of the larders in anticipation of the season of Lent.
Lent at St. Mary’s. During the penitential season of Lent, St. Mary’s parishioners look inward and outward as we prepare to come face-to-face with Christ’s death and the unutterable joy of his resurrection. Special opportunities for education, service and prayer are part of the Lenten experience at St. Mary’s.
Supper Club. A monthly pot luck supper in someone’s home is a relaxing way to connect with others. You don’t have to be a cook to come. Friendliness is the only requirement. There's room for more in Supper Club..
