Grief Group

Deacon Harrison Higgins leads a Grief Group in the Library. He writes, “If you find yourself held by grief, being in a group may be the last thing in the world that you want and somehow also something you secretly long for. That at least was my state after losing my son nineteen years ago. Sooner or later most of us encounter this unique kind of pain, whether it is the loss of a family member or friend, the loss of a job or health, or simply the news. Grief is not an illness to be cured; it is actually love. And I am not a grief counselor; I am a fellow traveler who has spent some time in this hard place and found that God is there too. I am convinced we don’t get through grief alone.”
