Adult Choir
Started in 1993 by parish organist Marguerite Miller as a chorus of women’s voices, the St. Mary’s Adult Choir has grown over the years to include male singers and choristers ranging in age from high school to senior adults. Under the current direction of W. Dwight Graham, the St. Mary’s Choir comprises over 30 volunteer and paid singers upholding a tradition of anthems and service music in the Anglican style. We prepare a wide variety of music for the 11:00 am worship services each week, from Byrd to Bach to Bairstow and beyond. Highlights of the choir season include the Advent Service of Lessons and Carols, following the traditions set by the King’s College Choir in Cambridge, England, and a service of choral morning prayer in the fall of 2011.
Rehearsals are held on Thursday nights from 7:30-9:30 and on Sunday mornings at 10:00. Interested singers should contact Mr. Graham at church (784-5678 ext. 14) or dgraham@stmarysgoochland.org.
