Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body, the Church. Baptism is a sacrament that recognizes how God establishes a new relationship with us as we affirm (or sponsors affirm on our behalf) our commitment to faith. St. Mary’s baptizes people of all ages. We celebrate baptisms on designated Sundays throughout the year. If you are interested in participating in this sacrament for yourself or on behalf of a child, please contact Elizabeth Baker to learn more.
Confirmation is a sacramental rite in which a baptized person makes a public, mature affirmation of the promises made at his or her baptism, usually made on their behalf by parents and godparents.
A Bishop presides over the worship service and lays hands on each confirmand while praying for the Holy Spirit to strengthen and empower that person. We offer a confirmation class for youth (most in the class are in eighth grade) and an Inquirer’s Class for adults. If you would like to know more about confirmation, please contact Matt Rawls.
